Do you have a passion for supporting and engaging with students?

We require a dedicated and resilient Learning Recovery Lead to join our enthusiastic team supporting our commitment to changing the life chances of our students.

Your role will primarily be to support and supervise students removed from class for lack of engagement and attitude to learning. You will be responsible for re-engaging the students to ensure they can positively return to class.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has the ability to build strong positive relationships with students
  • Is resilient and has experience in providing an educational environment with strong discipline
  • Has enthusiasm, presence and authority with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Is highly organised, motivated and driven to succeed
  • Has the ability to build strong positive relationships with students
  • Is a team member who will collaborate with colleagues to ensure feedback regarding students is consistent and constructive

The Hastings Academy is a secondary school for 11 to 16- year olds in Hastings, East Sussex. Our motto, Pride through success, runs through everything that we do. We are a modern and innovative school, with specialist classrooms and technology to support learning. Our team of talented professional staff are committed to maximising the potential of every child. We hold the Quality in Careers Standard, the national quality award for careers educations, information advice and guidance. We are renowned for our inclusivity and outstanding care of students. We offer 180 student places every year, with a total capacity of 900.  The role is for 32.5 hours per week from 8.45 until 3.15 Monday to Friday, term time only.

The role will be paid pro rata at East Sussex County Council grade 7, point 18

The role is being recruited on a permanent basis
