Are you an experienced governance professional looking for a new challenge?

The University of Brighton Academies Trust is looking to appoint a Clerk to the Board of Trustees to provide high-quality administrative support, advice and guidance to ensure that the work of these key volunteers meets all of their legal obligations and strategic aims.

The role is based at the Trust office in Falmer and will provide clerking support to the planned Board and Committee meetings which are scheduled throughout the academic year and are usually held during the working day at Falmer or one of the Trust academies. The role will be part-time (15 hours per week) and working term-time only.

The successful applicant will also work closely with the Head of Governance and Admissions on other areas of compliance, policy and procedure so an eye for detail and knowledge of education law will be important qualities. You will need to be able to manage your own time effectively, be comfortable chasing busy people to ensure deadlines are met and confident in taking the initiative to find relevant information on behalf of the Board. A flexible approach to working hours is essential, to accommodate the varied schedule of the meetings, as is your tact, diplomacy and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

We offer a wide range of exciting and useful employee benefits to all our employees, including flexible working to maintain a healthy work-life balance, competitive annual leave entitlement, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, and discounts and offers with popular retailers.

We believe in the power of motivated and happy staff, which is why we seek to enrich and reward our employees wherever we can.
