We are seeking three new Trustees (volunteer non-executive directors) with either a financial, business, corporate governance or HR background to join our Board of Trustees,  to realise our vision, mission and strategic direction to enable us to have a positive impact on the communities we serve across Sussex.

 

The person

 

You will be able to demonstrate sound business judgement, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to work as part of a team to help us achieve our aims. We will expect you to be ‘challenging’, but at the same time respectful of the views of others, and to adopt a constructive, collegiate and supportive approach to this very important role.

 

We are looking to develop a Board that is as inclusive as possible and which effectively represents the broad, diverse communities we serve; therefore, we would welcome applications from the broadest spectrum of backgrounds.

 

The role

 

  • Promote the highest standards of governance and transparency, ensuring that the Board of Trustees fulfils its responsibilities for the governance of the charity.
  • Attend each Board of Trustees meeting per calendar year (Typically six meetings a year).
  • Join a Committee of the Board relevant to personal interests and skill set (typically three meetings a year)
  • Together with the Chair, Board colleagues and the Chief Executive, determine the strategic direction of the Trust and set policy.
