We are looking for an HLTA (Inclusion) to join our SEN team from September 2020. The successful candidate will be required to deliver an ASDAN / study support group in years 10 and 11 and to provide support to students learning outside of lessons.
The Academy currently delivers the ASDAN CoPE Lv1/2 qualification focusing on life and work skills and building confidence and independence ready for a successful transition to Post 16 and adulthood. We target the key skills of Working With Others, Improving Own Learning, Problem Solving, Research, Discussion and Oral Presentation. This course runs alongside support with GCSE study to develop confidence in exam technique, increase understanding of questioning and strengthen revision skills.
Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work well as part of a team as well as on their own initiative. Excellent organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to work well under pressure. Ideally they will hold HLTA status, however, we will consider applications from candidates with experience of working in a school or with young people and who are willing to undertake the required training to acheive the HLTA status ( the role will be Grade 6 whilst completing the qualification).
