Actual starting salary (calculated pro rata): £14,708 per annum

Salaries are paid in 12 equal monthly instalments

The Burgess Hill Academy are looking to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant / Haven Student Supervisor to join our expanding team.  This role is split 50:50 between Learning Support Assistant and Haven Supervisor.

Learning Support Assistants play a crucial role in the education of our students.  They promote the learning and personal development of all pupils; including but not exclusively, those with special education needs. Our Learning Support Assistants  provide support in the classroom and work with specific students, across all subject areas. 

Your duties will include:

  • Supervising the students within The Haven during lesson time and additional break times
  • Providing support in the classroom and work with specific students, across all subject areas
  • Supporting with set tasks and producing differentiated tasks where necessary 
  • Liaising with the SENCo and Inclusion Co-ordinator re progress/needs of students

This opportunity will suit you if have:

  • Excellent interpersonal, organisation and communication skills
  • The ability to work in a discreet and sensitive manner
  • Experience of working within a school environment or with young people (desirable but not essential)
