Contract: FTC until 22/7/25
Working Pattern: Term time only (39 weeks)
Actual Starting Salary (calculated pro rata): £20,551 per annum

Salaries are paid in 12 equal monthly instalments

The St Leonards Academy is looking to appoint a full time Student Wellbeing and Welfare Officer to join our friendly and proactive pastoral team. 

 Within this highly rewarding role, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Providing support, care and guidance; ensuring that students emotional and wellbeing needs are met
  • Ensuring students attend lessons
  • Assisting students that need to be removed for behavioural or emotional reasons
  • Working proactively and liaising with parents and staff in supporting students learning and progress

To be successful within this role, you will:

  • Be firmly committed to improving standards of learning and achievement and improving life chances for all students
  • Have excellent communication and listening skills
  • Be a confident, calm and caring team member
  • Be an excellent role model; offering support and guidance to ensure students are fully engaged
  • Have a good understanding of the learning and support needs of young people, gained in a working school setting in a learning support capacity
