We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and committed Teaching Assistant to assist the learning and personal development of all pupils and to develop their skills to achieve their full potential. We are looking for someone to work 27 hours per week, term time only. 

The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to provide consistent, calm support and encouragement and be able to use their initiative in a variety of situations.

Previous experience of promoting learning and development in all primary key stages will be considered an advantage.

In addition, you will be required to cover lunchtime duty roles within the classroom, playground or dining hall.

Manual handling and lifting may be involved.

GCSE (grade A-C) or equivalent in English and Maths are essential.

The successful applicant will have high expectations for the children and will demonstrate a commitment to working as part of a team.

We have a strong friendly team of staff and are a National Talk for Writing training centre.

West St Leonards Primary Academy is a school for 4 to 11-year olds in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex. Our Pride of West Leonards (POW) values run through all that we do; encouraging respect and tolerance and supporting our pupils to become responsible members of our community. We are a National Lead School for the Talk For Writing programme and use the Mastery Approach to teach mathematics. We have two classes in each year group and also host a special facility for up to 12 children with moderate learning difficulties and physical disabilities.
