Are you an experienced Assistant Principal looking for your next challenge? Or are you looking to step into your first senior leadership role?

You will be based at one of our two ‘Outstanding’ mid Sussex and neighbouring academies; the Lindfield Primary Academy or the Blackthorns Community Primary Academy.  However, these exciting new roles also offer the opportunity for some joint projects across the two academies as we seek to build closer working relationships that will benefit both our pupils, staff and local community: We are passionate about sharing best practice to make lasting improvements.

We are looking to appoint a resilient, dynamic and inspiring Assistant Principal who shares our ambition and strategic vision to continue to build upon the successes of both the Lindfield and Blackthorns primaries.

Our successful candidate will:

  • Provide support, supervision and direction in the day-to-day operational running of your designated academy
  • As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, contribute to leadership and development
  • Lead on specific areas of responsibility and projects, to meet targets for improvement and success

Blackthorns Community Primary Academy is a school for 4 to 11-year olds in Lindfield, West Sussex. We are an inclusive, nurturing school. We strive to provide creative and inspirational learning experiences. With one class in each year group, our small size allows us to know our pupils as individuals; nurturing their strengths and talents. We also have a special facility for up to 8 children with additional learning needs and speech, language and communication difficulties.

In 2017 we were nationally recognised for exceptional educational outcomes with a School Students and Teachers award. We hold the Arts Council Artsmark Award and Silver School Games award.
