The Burgess Hill Academy opened as an Academy in 2016, sponsored by the University of Brighton Academies Trust. We have made tremendous strides in our journey to become a great school for Burgess Hill. The Academy is situated in the heart of Burgess Hill on a pleasant 30 Acre site. The Town is in the heart of the beautiful South Downs; a 20 minute drive to the Sea and a 5 minute walk from Burgess Hill mainline station with connections to the bustling sea side of Brighton (10 mins) and London (50mins to Victoria).
We are looking for a Library and Literacy Support Assistant to join us in September 2020. The Library & Literacy Support Assistant will be responsible for managing, developing and promoting the Academy Learning Resource Centre as an effective source for learning and a cross-curricular whole Academy resource. They will also support literacy and reading across the Academy, including 1:1 and small group work, guided reading activities and managing the accelerated reader system.
Our ideal candidate will have experience of working within a school or with young people. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work well as part of a team as well as on their own initiative. Excellent organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to work well under pressure.
